Felo De Se has an Identity

Hello all,
After an incredibly frustrating day fighting with my rapidly declining computer, I managed to get a fair bit done... the initial layouts and mock-ups for the cover and inner sleeve of the Squares and Triangles Cassette are finished... booklet has a long way to go, and needless to say I am yet to start the color separations for screen printing... but it feels pretty great to have something tangible sitting on my table that is looking like a pretty beautiful release.... I'm going to resist my temptation to post images and keep it in the closet for a while in case I change my mind about some detail and the band has seen it... To do a poor job at wetting appetites...I also finished the Logo or whatever you want to call it... which can be seen above... check back in soon for more updates...

Felo De Se #1

I am happy to announce that the first release on Felo De Se will be a hansom Cassette by Squares and Triangles... A London or Sweden or Switzerland based group of slightly stoned free improvisers. The release will be the culmination of years of documenting and archiving their musical interactions. A fluctuating number of members is currently sifting their way through hundreds of hours of recording so there is no way to tell how long it will take them to get me the final selection.. until then you can get a taste at....

A Begining

This is the Blog that will run in support of, and in conjunction to, my new endeavor Felo De Se. Felo De Se is for all intents and purposes the natural extension of my years spent as a lover and collector of audio and literary material, and as a maker of things. It is a record label and intermittently a press in support of the people and the projects that I can not help but love. It is inspired by all the people, artists, record labels and presses who have selflessly put the things into the world that have made life a rich and wonderful thing to live. The ethos of the label and press is a simple one. It is an archive of material that I do not want to forget and do not want to be forgotten by others. It is a means to share such material with a few more people. It is a line in the sand and a decision, in a world filled with disposable media, to produce something in small numbers, with limited distribution and without a profit motivation, that is beautiful, that has a right to exist, runs the risk of being lost, or might not have seen the light of day with prompting. It simply put is the desire to produce something that one might be compelled, with all their precious objects burning, to save from a fire. Please check back in soon for all the updates.
